Submission Window Now Closed

The submissions window for our 12th December 6×6 closed at midnight and what a lot we have!  If only it was titled 12×6 or more!  But alas we must stick to our brief of six writers with six minutes each, so the tricky task of picking the few from the wonderful array of both fiction and fact that arrived in our in-box begins today.

We shall be posting our selection in the next few days so keep looking!

Book Gifting!

Posted on Updated on

It’s coming up to that time of year, when we are all having to turn our minds to the question of Christmas presents.

Image result for presentsWe spend a lot of time finding the perfect gift and what better gift can you give than a book? For me, Christmas without books isn’t really Christmas. After the food has been eaten, the wine drunk and the TV watched there is nothing better than curling up on the sofa with something new to read.

The world of books is so vast that you will find something for everyone. Books are easy to wrap, no awkward shapes, and if you order from Amazon, you don’t even have to worry about sending them.

books xmasAdded to which, if you have a writer in the family, or as a friend then giving their books as presents is a great thing to do. In fact, it doubles the joy, for there is nothing better than knowing that there are people out there buying and reading your books.

And if you really want to put the icing on a writer’s cake, then when you’ve read, and enjoyed, their book, then please spread the word and write a review.

To make your present buying even easier, there will be books for sale at the next 6×6 Reading Café on Tuesday December 12th at 7pm in Hanley library.

And if you are an author with books in print please do bring them along for people to buy!
